ウガンダの子どもたちの卒業式（2018）

ご卒業おめでとうございます！

Kayiira GeoffreyとVialeyが大学を卒業しました。

2005年、あしなが育英会サマーキャンプでウガンダ共和国から来たKayiira GeoffreyとVialey に出会いました。

2人は対照的で、物静かで口数の少ないKayiiraと、人なつっこく女の子の前で良い格好するVialeyでした。共通していることは、二人とも一生懸命勉強することでした。

しかし、生活することだけでも難しく、小学校卒業までを継続して学ぶことはさらに難しく、一時休学してはお金が貯まると復学するような状況でした。

このような背景を知り、数人の子どもたちへの支援が始まったのですが、2人とジョセフさんが頑張り大学へ進学（ジョセフさんはアメリカへ、今秋卒業予定）、そして卒業式晴れの日を迎えることができました。

その時から、私は彼らの気持ちに応えたく学資支援が始まりました（当時は5名の子供たちの日本のお母さんでした）。

月日は流れ、2014年4月。彼たちは日本にやってきました。Kayiiraは京都の同志社大学に、Vialeyは明治大学に入学できたのです。実子と同じように嬉しかったです。

異国の地で苦労も多かったと思いますが、一生懸命日本の生活に溶け込みながら努力し、晴れて卒業となりました。

3月下旬、街には桜の花が咲きそろい、「爛漫」の言葉がふさわしい浮き浮きする季節になってまいりました。

2人の卒業式に父兄として参加しましたので卒業式の様子をご紹介いたします。

Hello,
Thank you so much for coming to my graduation. I feel so happy that I could graduate and you were there.

Thank you so much for the support you have been giving me since I was a child.
If it wasn't for your support, I couldn't have done it.

I feel happy that I am now done with school, I am going to join a new life for work.
From April, agreed to join Ashinaga and work with Ashinaga to help make the lives of African students like me better. I hope to make a big impact through working with Ashinaga.
I am going to move to Tokyo, so I hope we can meet sometimes.

Hello,

I am extremely proud to extend to you an invitation to my (Geoffrey Kayiira) 's graduation ceremony that will take place at Doshisha University on Tuesday, 20th of March 2018.

The ceremony will take place at Doshisha University Imadegawa campus at the Clarke Memorial Hall and will start at 3 00 pm.

After the graduation, the ILA organised the awarding two ceremonies which include the awarding of the certificates, and also the reception.
